Burr must go: America is a third world country

I recently started watching the showtime series "Weeds" via Netflix. It's mostly funny, but I can't shake one line in an episode near the end of Season 2:

"There are 1370 Billionaires in our country, and 40 million people living beneath the poverty line. Wake up. America is an 'effing third world country."

It's so true. Welcome to an economy brought to us by Republicans. We're a third world country, at best.

North Carolina deserves better than Republican Senator Richard Burr.

  1. Did my part in "taking out the trash" today by voting for Elaine Marshall. Unfortunately I think it was in vain. Her campaign ran zero adds in Charlotte and I cant figure this out for the life of me. Its like they already expected dipsh?t to win and did not want to waste their time campaigning. The most vulnerable incumbent in the midterm elections and Marshall did not campaign one bit in the biggest Democratic stronghold in the state? I asked some Dem friends of mine if they were going to vote and their response: "I dont even know who is running" go figure! Just pathetic. Get ready for another 6 with the moron. BTW did you watch the debate last week? He couldn't even articulate one coherent thought and whined that Elaine made her attacks to personal.

  2. Logan, Elaine simply didn't have the money to run an effective campaign. #1 - She's not independently wealthy. #2 - She had to spend heavily in the primaries to win the nomination. #3 - The DSCC (Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee) would not back her. They were backing Cal Cunningham, who Elaine defeated in the primaries. Without the backing of the national party, it was extremely difficult for her to raise the money needed to run an effective campaign. I too have noticed that she's faded down the home stretch. But, she's simply too far behind in the polls to entice her to go heavily into debt and pull out all the stops down the homestretch. Elaine's a fighter though and you have to tip a hat to her efforts. I've gained a new found respect for Elaine Marshall and hope she won't give up after this election. I've also resigned myself to six more years of a Mental Midget representing us in the United States Senate. It is going to be fun dogging Richard Burr for another six years though. Let's just hope that he either doesn't run in 2016, or that the voters of North Carolina wake up by then and realize what an idiot we have representing us in the the United States Senate. Thanks for reading. Thanks for caring. Thanks for voting.
