I'm still looking for this Republican ...

A post from July 2011:

I will vote for a Republican who:
  1. Clearly communicates that a balanced approach of both raising taxes, and cutting expenses, is the only rational solution to our nation's budgetary problems.
  2. Who tells us that its shameful that 50% of Americans pay no federal income taxes at all, and even more shameful that our nation's Billionaires pay all-in effective taxes at rates lower than middle class Americans.
  3. Admits that we can no longer afford to spend more annually on our US Military than the next 14 nations combined, so we must make deep cuts to defense spending.
  4. Owns up to the fact that we can no longer afford to be policeman to the world, so its past time to close all US military bases outside of our country and bring all of our troops home.
  5. Who talks only about proposed solutions, and refrains entirely from pointing fingers at anyone and everyone not belonging to the Republican party.
  6. Who admits that trickle down economics is total crap.
  7. Who is smart enough to realize that salary expenses comprise 70% of medical costs, and we therefore must solve our medical crises by attacking the uber high salaries paid to medical professionals.
  8. Indicates that bankers are the enemy, and not our best buddies.
  9. Shows us that the answer to reducing our nation's outrageous college costs is to force professors to actually teach a full load.
  10. Who pounds the hell out of the table and demands that shareholders are given the right of a binding vote on the pay packages of key executives working in public companies - after all, we own the god damn companies in the first place.
  11. Who stands up to China and demands that they STOP manipulating their currency.
  12. Thinks it's absolutely egregious that our nation's justice department can't manage to throw a couple thousand bankers in jail for the TRILLIONS in lost wealth resulting from this latest financial crises.
  13. Labels Laissez-faire as nothing but hooey, and tells us a level playing field for all Americans, in all facets of life, is only possible with reasonable and rational regulations, and effective enforcement of those regulations.
  14. Who, when given privileged information about a potential financial crises in our nation, won't immediately hop on the 'effing phone, call his wife, and encourage her to run to the nearest ATM machine and withdraw as much cash as possible.
I won't ever be voting for our sorry, good for nothing, POS, worthless Republican Senator Richard Burr.

North Carolina deserves better than Senator Richard Burr.

Sh*t @SenatorBurr Says - Siri, what's a rant?

Siri - Well,  Senator Butt,  here's an example of a good rant:

From July 2010:

I'm about to go on a RANT. It's going to be an ugly, emotional rant. I cuss heavily and blood rushes to my face to the point I take on a devilish appearance. If you don't like RANTS, don't read the rest of this post.

Why in the living hell am I not allowed to vote on the compensation paid to the executives of the companies in which I own shares? This one issue is the biggest pile of bullshit that my Republican party shovels each and every year, it's irritating as hell and makes me wonder every day if Republican politicians aren't really communists wrapping themselves in the American flag. We're capitalists for god's sake. Yet, in this country, I own stock in a company, and I don't have a god damn RIGHT to have a say in how much my companies pay their executives? WTF?

Each and every time, Republicans vote against giving shareholders the RIGHT to have a say on executive compensation of public companies. We're forced to vote for a CEO's hand picked slate of directors. We're forced to sit and watch as these friends of the CEO award these idiots ungodly amounts of compensation. We're forced to watch as these idiots go out and hire a compensation consultant who doesn't do shit but rubber stamp this ungodly compensation. Then, we're forced to watch all these assholes make off with massive amounts of wealth no matter how the company performs? Golden parachutes for failure are the norm. How in the hell can anyone with common sense sit there and allow this crap to happen time and time again?

Message to EVERY REPUBLICAN POLITICIAN in Washington DC. Get off your ^*&@ing lazy asses and put capitalism back on center stage. Give shareholders the right to decide how the executives in public companies are compensated. Republican politicians who support these bullshit CEOs are ALL ASSHOLES.

That's it. Rant is over. I feel better. And I will never vote for a Republican who thinks its wise to block any effort for shareholders to have a say over how THEIR companies are run. We should have the right to vote on compensation. We should have the right to nominate directors. We should have the right to have a say in these things because we're capitalists, not communists.

Republicans lost their rudder when it came to oversight of public corporations. As a result, we have a small community of idiot CEOs stealing our wealth. And the blame for this problem lies squarely on the shoulders of the Republican Party. And that includes our idiot Republican Senator Richard Burr. This man spouts laissez-faire and capitalism and then constantly and consistently votes against basic shareholder rights. %*#& Richard Burr. OK, the rant was not quite over with, yet. Now it is.

North Carolina simply deserves better than Republican Senator Richard Burr.

Sh*t @SenatorBurr Says - Siri, what's a cue?

Siri responds - Senator Butt,  a cue is what I'm about to give you.  This is your "CUE" to go ape shit over your own party's plan to cut 24% from the veteran's benefits budget over the next 10 years.  That's YOUR party Senator Butt.  The War Party.  The tanks, guns, ships, planes and ammo Party.  Yes,  that little knife wielding Paul Ryan wants to hack the hell out of veteran's benefits ... so the rich can pay even less taxes.

You did get this "CUE",  Senator Butt,  right?

@SenatorBurr - Ever wonder why we can't get anything done to stimulate NatGas use in our country?

THE most popular post on this blog,  from July 2011:

I'm hearing on the business news this evening that our esteemed US Republican Senator Richard Burr is on the verge of puckering up and kissing the ass of T Boone Pickens.   Pickens has a master plan to move America toward natural gas and away from oil.  While this may be good for America in the long run,   it's going to be damn good for T Boone Pickens,  who has vast amounts of his wealth tied up in natural gas investments.  And I imagine it will be good for Senator Burr,  who will get his pockets lined with Picken's wealth.  Make no mistake about what's going on here though.  T Boone cares about T Boone.  T Boone cares about making money.   T Boone could care less about what's good for America.

The Pickens/Burr chances of getting anything through Congress supporting a migration to natural gas?  Next to Zero.  You see,  T Boone Pickens is an idiot.  He underwrote those nasty Swift Boat ads against John Kerry years ago.  You know,  the ads attacking Kerry's service in Vietnam.   With Boone's help,  America elected that 'effing moron George W Bush,  the man who escaped serving his country in Vietnam by bar hopping through Alabama in the National Guard.   T Boone Pickens actions in underwriting those Swift Boat ads were despicable. They will be repaid with a Swift kick in the teeth to Burr and Pickens.  Payback is hell.

Nothing will get done on the natural gas front in our country until T. Boone Pickens dies,  which will be soon enough given his old age,  or the GOP wins the White House, House and a filibuster proof 60 seats in the Senate.  And it will be a cold day in hell when that happens.

Pickens was an idiot for attacking the Democrats in such a unpatriotic manner.  Senator Richard Burr is an idiot for supporting Pickens.   But,  what else is new?  Idiot + Idiot doesn't equal successful attempt at anything.

North Carolina deserves better than Republican Senator Richard Burr.

Sh*t @SenatorBurr Says - Siri, if I stand on the Republican platform, can I reach the cookie jar?

Siri's response - Senator Butt,  after seeing recent pictures of your mid-section drift,  I recommend that you stay away from those cookies.  And that Republican Platform?  It's a loser:

Sh*t @SenatorBurr Says - Siri, who controls the Republican Party?

Siri's reply - Senator Butt,  you're so lame.  Everyone knows the Republican party strings are pulled by Rush, Matt, Grover and Rupert.  Piss off any of these old, white, ignorant men and you're toast.  You can't squat, look, talk, walk, spend, smile, frown, fly, run, sit, lay, love, hate, or ... blow your nose without their permission.

Sh*t @SenatorBurr Says - Siri, how do I make myself irrelevant?

Siri responds - Senator Butt,  you have accomplished your goal.

While our nation's debt hits new highs,  our medical costs continue to skyrocket,  we get raped at the gas pump,  and our tax dollars are thrown out the window in Afghanistan ... you're playing administrative assistant and working on biotech acts,  local water issues, youth programs, essay contests,  and event ticket allocation.

Holy smokes Senator,  can you be any more irrelevant?

Siri says,  North Carolina deserves better than Republican Senator Richard Butt.

Conservatives > Liberals ... from Aug 2009

The post below,  from August 2009,  is getting a large number of hits right now.  Don't know why.  But as I re-read what I wrote back in August 2009,  I find it more relevant today than it was more than 2 years ago:

Gallup is out with a new poll. Conservatives now outnumber liberals. And that's the case in all 50 states. This is just one huge irony.

Why you ask? Let me tell you why. Republicans screwed up our country. They so mismanaged just about every aspect of our economy that we came frighteningly close to crashing and burning as a country. The only damn thing that saved us was massive borrowing and spending by the federal government. If our government had not saved all the banks and automakers, the world economy would have crashed in a death spiral, and we'd all be broke right now.

Republicans screwed it up. Democrats spent like mad to fix the Republican mess.

America doesn't like the fix. They would have hated the alternative. The alternative would have been complete chaos and social upheaval. But they don't see that. All they see now is the massive borrowing and spending to fix the Republican mess. They see all the Wall Street crowd making out like bandits. They see all the people who borrowed and spent up to their eyeballs getting rescued. America hates it. They hate the Democratic fix for the Republican mess. They are migrating back to the party that caused the mess.

Sh*t @SenatorBurr Says - Siri, how does one talk out of both sides of a mouth at once?

Siri's response:  Senator Butt,  you're the master.  Out of the right side of your mouth,  you don't want government picking winners and losers.  Out of the left side of your mouth,  you're signing up to throw massive amounts of taxpayer money at nat gas transportation subsidies:

"The bill, sadly, has bipartisan support, including from Republicans like Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina, who apparently believes that the only difference between Republicans and Democrats is which industries they prefer to choose to lavish with special giveaways."

Sh*t @SenatorBurr Says - Siri, what has Mitch done with my lawnmower?

If Senator Richard Burr had spent the last 17 years selling lawn mower parts and mowing lawns around Winston-Salem,  our deficit would be lower and our economy significantly better.   The Republican Bush administration destroyed America,  with a helping hand from Senator Richard Burr.

North Carolina deserves better than Republican Senator Richard Burr.
